Job Title: Labor Relations Specialist
Location: Downtown Los Angeles, CA
6-month assignment (potential to extend)
Pay Rate: $55-$62/hour
Overview:
The Labor Relations Specialist interprets and applies policies, regulations, and precedents to address diverse and complex labor relations challenges. The role involves advising management, preparing grievance appeal documents, and analyzing labor agreements to ensure compliance with laws and organizational objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide counsel on contract administration and grievance matters.
- Research legal and arbitral precedents to support labor negotiations and arbitration.
- Prepare reports, charts, and economic analyses of labor contract proposals.
- Develop training materials on labor agreement administration and employee relations.
- Analyze grievance trends and propose solutions to minimize disputes.
- Support investigations into complaints of discrimination, harassment, and retaliation.
- Represent the organization in administrative forums and hearings.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
- 4+ years of relevant experience in labor relations or human resources.
- Knowledge of labor relations practices, research methods, and HR principles.
- Strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
- Proficiency with office technology and software.
- Valid California Class C Driver License.
Preferred Skills:
- Ability to interpret labor laws and agreements.
- Experience in grievance resolution and arbitration support.
